Gotta love it.
One of the wonderful handicapped key combinations took my keyboard away. To avoid a reboot, since the even CTRL-ALT-DEL wouldn't bring up the Task Manager, I had to force crash my boat into the ocean floor with the mouse and kill my career.
Sigh.
I'm lucky the water was so shallow, or I would've had to completely reboot. Once out of the game I was able to use the mouse to disable the silly handicapped key feature disabling my keyboard.
Go Windows!
:damn:

With Windows most keyboards are hot swapable, next time just unplug your keyboard and plug it back in. The game may not recognize or acknowledge the swap, but windows will (if it wont let go of the original connection) grab it as a new device. Afterwards hitting the windows key to get your start bar or alt-tabing should get you back.

I believe he is talking about Sticky/Filter/Toggle keys.
Those are annoying. Go to Accessiblity options in the control to disable them by checking the "Disable shortcut" box.

Yep, all gone now. I had never triggered the other ones, just the one where you press a key three times rapidly. (FPSes.)
Oooo! :x I HATE that sticky keys thing!! I hate it, I hate it!
I haven't had it bother me in SH3 yet, but it happens to me all the time in WWII Online. I'll be running up to gun some Tommy down, try to sprint and then that dreadful "BeeeeWOOP!" sound hits and I have no more keyboard control until I Alt-TAB and turn it off.
Thanks for posting on how do disable it. What the heck good is sticky keys anyway?
I have W2K and very time i get that sticky key thing, usually for holding down the shift key too long, i just press the other shift key and it turns it off.

It's quite invaluable to people who cannot type with two hands, or don't even have two hands...
It's meant as a tool to assist the less-abled that (reasonably) still want to be able to use a computer.
Heck, I sometimes have enough trouble typing properly and (supposedly!) there's nothing the matter with me. :)
And for the able bodied another MS annoyance. Would be nice to be able to uninstall the dang thing completely...
