<Edit: Link to the community manual: http://www.communitymanuals.com/shiii/index.php?title=Main_Page>

I'd like to ask someone to add couple of things in to community manual or FAQ's, if I may. It's about the effect of TC to AI 'behaviour', the intervals which the AI makes a sweep at high TC and such. The other is about the weather clock. You know, if you save in storm, the clock will reset etc. I remember seeing posts where somones(s) had figured out the TC thing and the 'dice rolling' of the weather clock and the odds which it has on the weather. Can't find the posts myself, so if someone could add them or at least link them to corresponding threads it'd probably be appreciated by many.

You can do it yourself! Try! :yep:

Sorry, no. I would if I could :) but IIRC they were actually calculated somehow and I've got no idea how it was done. I'm still trying to find the posts but it really needs someone else to do the dirty work.

OK. I found couple of posts by Jungman regarding the weather clock but there're some different opinions about it as well.
Here're the threads with Jungman's posts:
http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=39554&highlight=weather
http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=40509&highlight=weather

So, now we need to find exactly how the engine works. FAdmiral, for eaxmple, seems to think differently.

Haven't found the TC vs. AI posts yet.

Great resource!

Any way you can add a deck gun column to the sub types matrix? I'd like to know which subs had them (and sizes if possible), and which did not.

Well... not really. It was really simple, as all of Type VII have 8,8cm deck gun and all of Type IX have 10,5cm ;)
The editing of WIKI is also much simplier than doing a real cappucino ;)

ok, what about keel depths? Is that info somewhere?

What do you mean by that? Draft while surfaced?

von Buelow

for eels, the depth of each boat so I can set my torpedos accordingly... heavier ships having more depth than, say a fishing boat. I've seen some refrences to 2m - 8m

You have it in your recognition manual ;) Just click on it and find a ship of your interest :D

Ok, I looked but didnt see it - I'll look again tonight

oh wait, unless "draft" is the number which I am looking for

Yup! That's the case. Just remember to set your torpedoes to run BELOW the keel ;)

To anyone who would like to,

I think this randomizer would be a good edition to the wiki. I would, but I'm not familiar with how to add stuff (thinking about it, that would make a good topic to add as well) :yep:

oh, ok, I guess that's good info to know :88) seems to work a whole lot better now :know:

Is there any info on acoustic eels? Search results came up with nothing...

When available, which flotillas/uboats, best practices.... etc...

I've started a Mission Editor page (http://www.communitymanuals.com/shiii/index.php?title=Mission_Editor).

Mission makers, please feel free to contribute from your experiences.

Great idea Avon - there was one custom mission I played online that I wish I could have gotten... there was friendly elko's and a friendlt task force that were surface battling right as the game got started, and it was a fun match! Hopefully I get a chance to stumble across it again.

Question (for anyone) - under career>>career timeline on the wiki, here>>
http://www.communitymanuals.com/shiii/index.php?title=Career_Timeline

it lists available uboats and available torpedos and available coning towers... but these lists are differnt from the Uboat/submarine list here>>
http://www.communitymanuals.com/shiii/index.php?title=Submarines

Aren't these the same lists?

And final question (for anyone), under the available torpedo list, is there another colum that could be added that tell if it is FaT or not, acoustic, and maybe even go into the options some torpedos have (as I was told that some FaT torpedos have more variables than others).

Nothing to get excited about. There seem to be no lack of immature people without a life out there.

Folks, due to spam and vandalism, a login is now required to edit pages over at the Community Manual. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Also, my copy of SHIII has been collecting dust for a while now, so I don't check up on the site or these boards very often. I am, however, still very much interested in keeping the Community Manual alive, so please report any problems by sending me a PM.

Thanks again to everyone who has made the Manual such a great resource!

Is there any info about crew morale? It seems to be a dead site at the moment but searching here, and at the other FAQs, produced false positives with no valuable inforation on raising morale.

I haven't able to access it either for the past week. Sometimes it's a blank page and sometimes the load bar stops halfway. Who hosts it? Any idea what's going on, because it's a great source of info.

Sorry folks...just noticed that the wiki has been down for a while. It appears to be a database connectivity problem. I have opened a support ticket with my hosting provider.

I will update when I know more.

In the meantime, people can grab the Google cached versions.

To do that for yourself, you can paste the following link into your browser:

http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:www.communitymanuals.com/shiii/index.php?title=Main_Page

That'll take you to the main page, and to get to the other pages, just replace "Main_Page" with the page you want to reach, like "Ship_Weak_Spots".

You can see the page titles at the end of each link off the main page.

Most of the pages will work, but some of them didn't get indexed last time Google crawled the site.

Ok, here is a kind of Wiki mirror:
http://home.arcor.de/gizzmoe/wiki.htm

All links point to the Google cache. As BehroozWolf said, some pages don“t work, they were not cached.

Hurray! Must download the whole thing to my hard drive, in case it crashes again when I need it. Is there anyway to know when there is an update or addition to it, so that I know when a page of my soon to be downloaded wiki-comm-man needs to be redownloaded with the new updates/additions?

k, I'm lazy. Could someone edit up the matching flags to go with http://www.communitymanuals.com/shiii/images/1/19/Nation_status.png? I've run across a couple of flags that were on ships but not in my recognition manual.

Good said. Community manual should be updated, it's rather old now, without many necessary infos.
