found several ports with no names labeled on map, i.e port of vigo, when i get close to port notice no harbor traffic or docked ships, like casablanca port, and all other ports south of spain port freeman etc, is there a reason for this or the makers of LSH3 2020 did have the time to do it, thanx happy new year to all:Kaleun_Salute:

The matter of harbor traffic in all mods is a function of whether the game modders scripted anything for it. Nothing is there if the modders thought it would save time and computer memory. If you want more active harbors you need to find a harbor traffic mod that is compatible, in your case LSH3 2020. Since LSH is known for its elaborate harbor settings finding even more is probably unlikely. Any other harbor traffic mod not specifically for LSH is not going to work because it involves the SCR.mis file among others which is very picky about which ship types are there and all the details, such as Roster info etc. If you haven't used the Sh3MissionEditor which is in the main game folder, you are in for a real shock when you see all the ships modded in there. That being said, over the years I have downloaded a harbor expansion mod or two for my GWX campaign and there is a port addition tutorial that was very helpful also. The result was I spent a lot of time improving and adding to the ports. It's a lot of work, but I enjoy it. In fact. I almost never leave my assigned base without having done something to improve it. It's where my boat and crew spend a good deal of downtime, after all. I even got tired of seeing ships crashed and burned after coming in from a patrol in bad weather, so I modded a lot of that out too.
If you want to see human activity on the docks, you have to have a major U-boat base, other ports weren't modded for that. The point of all this is that it's sad that that all ports can't be active and interesting, but you can make the ones you want better.

I don't play LSH3 but I looked for harbor expansion mods on the internet and there are none.
I don't know why Vigo had no docked ships, but it should.
I play GWX which has even less harbor traffic than LSH3, and Vigo has docked ships.
If you are just starting out stay with LSH because I read a lot of opinions that say it is great for that.
I repeat- There are no harbor expansion mods for LSH3, and the one there is for GWX is by Wredford-Brown and just adds to the ports of Wilhelmshaven and St. Nazaire. Maybe someone else has some better advice than this for you, but you will be frustrated trying to find minor ports with much in them unless they are Allied and therefore are providing targets for you.

I am using GWX and the number of ships in ports is good.
Didnt try the smaller harbors yet, because big harbors and naval bases provide enough targets.
just one note: destroyers anchored in harbor are still using ASDIC and hydrophones - which doesnt make much sense because of all harbor traffic there.

Harbour raids in SH3 are really for entertainment only.
There are no tides and no currents, the shipping channels are much too wide, your own navigation is always perfect, the blackout discipline is appalling, there are no searchlights on land, there are very few torpedo and anti submarine nets, there are no booms being opened and closed to allow shipping to pass, there are few small patrol craft...
...on the other hand you get no benefit from wrecks and rocks giving false returns and no ASDIC reflections from the bottom, and the visibility of a surfaced boat at night is a bit off.
I normally stay out to sea. I did try to interfere in operation Torch (GWX) and whilst the invasion fleet was definitely scaled down they did a very good job of sinking me!

One other problem with harbor raids I found is that if you sink a ship and the depth is too shallow you might not get credit for it, because it technically isn.t sunk!

then you need to finish her with more torpedoes I guess,
if you still have some
or with deckgun (if it is safe to surface)

found out when i merged the scr file for the buoys mod i changed the original scr file i thought it was just adding to the original scr file..thats why the supply ship thalia in cadiz is not showing up and probably why the ports are empty

Hope you have backups from before the merge and are able to redo your buoys project!
Modding is a tricky business.
