Hello all! ~S~
I want to get back into the Sub sim games.
I have been eyeballing Silent Hunter 5 on steam for $10
I see there is alot to do to get it going. Is it worth it or where to start? Thanks

welcome back, Jaeger.
to answer your question, there are several "sticky" threads at the top of the forum list of threads. you might peruse those for things that others who have gone before you have encountered.
you can also try a "google" search for a particular issue using site:subsim.com/radioroom followed by your search criteria.
good luck!

I'm personally finding uboat more fun than SH5, both are good options if you get the wolves of steel mod for 5. I've heard great things about SH3 as well, look into the "one alex edition" its technically free (;

Hi, if you do not already own it, SH5 is not worth the purchase. The stock game had too many gameplay/realism issues and you have to heavily modify it just to get a semi-realistic experience.
If tou want to get a realistic WW2 subsim, I would recommend you check out WOLFPACK.
