i'm thinking of upgrading in April 2025 to Ryzen 9800X3D my ryzen 3800 and RX-6800 TX will be four years old in March 2025.

The AMD x3D chips are amazing. I picked up the original 5800x3D when it came out and gaming performance is spectacular.
Bit of an old benchmark, but you can see how the x3D chips blow everything away in flight simulators where the CPU is usually more important than the GPU:

That is no age! Mine is over 7 years, and counting (i7-8700K, GF1080Ti). And I'm not certain whether I really will upgrade to a Windows 11 drama machine, I tend to not doing it.
Anyway, before I upgrade the Windows playmachine, I will update my Linux notebook, which has issues, being also 7+ years old. Im just waiting for release of Mint 22.1., planned in late Decembre.

You should try Ultimate Edition Arch.
