View Full Version : I'll be offline in a few days to a week
I'm moving to an another house, into a terraced house. There ain't no Internet or cable-tv installed in the house. I've placed an order to the local internet and cable-tv Provider, but this could take some days or some week before they can dig down the cable from the road and into the house where a WIFI units will be installed. From there I have fiber to the Internet and cable-tv
I'll be surfing the internet until Sunday evening-Thereafter the computer will be taken apart-Meaning the mouse, keyboard and the speaker will be removed and put in a parcel.

Yes I have a lot of work to do-Like packing-I have hired a company to do the moving for me.

Our Technician will come to you Dec. 4th-December 4th!!!! A whole month without internet and tv.
It will almost be like living in the 30's.

Get yourself down to the library and borrow some Harold Robbins books, "A Stone For Danny Fisher" and "79 Park Avenue" are excellent books.
As Skybird wrote why not use My smart Phone, which I nederste gave a thought until today. I got a New provide and they can først come tuesday 19th of november.

I'm currently logged on using a 'Smartee' Mi-Fi box - it's like driving a Jaguar E-Type after a Morris Minor. It's so easy to set up and use that I've informed British Telecom that I'll no longer require their services. It's also a fraction of the cost of monthly BT Broadband which includes a fee for landline rental

She is climbing the walls in frustration because she can't come out..It's a new place, she has to stay inside 2-3 weeks before I let her out.

Some update on my move to a new place. I'm almost finish unpacking all my stuff. Today I toke a chance and let my cat out-She came back after some hours. Now I only need to settle psychologically

Finally!!! After, more than 3 weeks without internet I got it today. So I don't have to use my elder sisters internet. The furniture is where I want them-Now I only need to hang up the paintings.
Still no tv though.

Well I survived more than 3 weeks without FB-I could access this forum through my sisters computer and my smartphone, which was my main goal.
What's only sadden me was that I missed the American election day and night here at subsim and FB. Seeing the face on those who can't stand his guts-must be priceless, when it came clear he had won.
I could see some 30 minutes Danish tv on my smartphone.

I got my daily dosis of General topics via my sisters computer or my smartphone(logged on read the stuff-Logged out).
It is first now when I got my own computer up and running I can take a more active roll in our debates.

No problems here. But yes there has been two major breakdown in our society.
Most of it is up and running and DSB-Danish railroad says they will be at
100 % again Friday morning.
Can't help thinking-Was it an attempt on sabotage? Or was it only some mistakes made by some worker ?

MarkusWe had similar incident months ago in the Netherlands, something can cascade in a network like a simple update go wrong.
