Why not, I would even try it, if it is affordable. My only concern would be the possibility of infectious meat and parasites and germs and such things, like with any other wild meat. A thorough checking by the vets should deal with that.
The good thing with wild meat is that you escape the many antibiotics and additives from animals raised and held in factories.
Could be to lean, maybe, but I dont know.

Raccoons are prone to catching Rabies.
I would avoid the Raccoon Sushi. :yep:

Which is countered by the fact that wild animals often carry all sorts of diseases and problems, be they viruses, bacteria, parasites or other things. There are good reasons why every wild boar shot in Nothern Germany has to be thoroughly tested before it can be brought to a butcher.

Yes, they can carry rabies, but on the other hand Germany is listed since 20+ years as free of terrestric rabies, means no ground walking animals like foxes have it anymore. However, nobody tlaks of the growing population of wolves that stray from Eastern Europe. Firts and formost its the bat population you have to be careful of, around 30-40% of the population of various bat species carry the virus. NEVER EVER touch a helpless little bat with bare finger.
It goes without saying (though i said it in my first post) that wild game needs to be examined by a vet anyway, always. Its not just about rabbies, but plenty of other diseases and especially parasites.
While I like meat from wild boar or red deer, I dont have it because it is too lean for me, I like and need fattier meat. The fat content is the reason why people eating carnivore favour Entrecote and Ribeye over lean filet steak and the likes, and ground meat with high fat content (burger patties) over lean ground meat. In Germany you cannot order ground meat with various fat contents like you can in some other countries (maybe if you are lucky you have a Turkish food trader nearby, if they offer fresh meat they sometimes ask you for how fatty you want your ground meat, but only somne of them) you just get one and the same, and prepacked ground meat from the supermakrt fridge usually is of inferior quality since they tend to add so-called pink slime (although it is banned I think, but its hard to prove they add it, so...) . Frersh burger patties tend to contain more fat than normal ground beef, so thats a good (and economic) option.
