He played a tank leader in Kelly's Heroes here his name was Oddball
In the first M*A*S*H movie he played the role as Hawkey.

For me, one of his better roles was in the movie Backdraft.
He played a pyromaniac so well that I had to remind myself that this was just a role he was playing.
Yikes, he was scary in the role.
He was exceptional at playing extravagant roles with a dry demeanor; where other actors would have played up the wild or campy aspects, he gave his characters an uncommonly understated, humanizing aspect which made his 'creepier' performances all the more affecting; a great actor and an a somewhat rather underrated one...

I watched Kelly's Heroes a couple of days ago - one of the war classics - but thought he was great much more recently in The Hunger Games
