Let's share the best video games you've played in the past year, covering all genres.

Really?, video games I've played in 2023\2024 = Dungeon Siege 1 & 2, Anno 1404 Venice, total hours played, about 25 to 30 hours.
When I upgraded my PC in 2022 I couldn't be bothered to re-install SH4, will I get round to it?, maybe\maybe not. :salute:

I think what you should be asking is "What are your top 5 favourite games of all time" that will get a better response than your question don't you think?.

You're on Subsim, a submarine simulator, I expect most replies will include a SH 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5, don't you?. If you posted this question on TW Center Forum then it would be Rome Total War etc, etc, etc, so expect to receive a lot of biased answers, that's if anybody can be bothered to reply in the first place. :O:

Take no notice of Moonlight - he's like a grouchy old badger. I revisited some of my old offline disc games last year, among them Hidden & Dangerous, STALKER and Oblivion. The H&D fps series has always drawn me back, with its wide range of locations and opportunity to complete missions in a huge variety of ways, owing to the ability to equip your force in so many different ways

Oblivion is still a fun game to play.

Haven't played anything in years, but I just bought a used laptop that should be able to play some current titles. I think I'll be starting with Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts, Second Front, or Wings over Flanders Fields. https://www.overflandersfields.com/

Think I picked up Naval Hurricane too!

I envy you being able to play WOFF - the only title which made me sorry I don't play online

Seems like you were in error. :03:

It was my entry into the wonderworld of Bethesda games. I hold it in high esteem, good gaming memories. The magic was new, and real.

And I was almost 20 years younger. :o

Later I got lost in Skyrim, and then Fallout 4. The online games of Elder Scrolls I tried, but did not warm up to.

I finally finished Doom Eternal and The Outer Worlds in 2023. I really enjoyed both.

Oh and Tarkov is always in the corner. It's nobody's favorite but simultaneously we can't pull away.

I liked the Doom series but could not get into the latest one.

It seemed to be based more on a run and gun tactic instead of my preferred slow and careful tactic.

I have far, FAR too many games now - and the Paradox of Choice forever pulls me this way and that. I probably don't have enough years left to make proper inroads into huge role-playing things like Fallout, Oblivion, Dragon Age etc. These epic games require plenty of time and commitment or you may as well not start; it's far easier (in the meantime) to dabble in superficial things like Ghost Recon, Death to Spies, the Conflict series and all that stuff

I hope I can get some quality time in before it's too late, but the meantime game of real life is always keeping me otherwise occupied

Yep, story of my life. :haha:

Did anyone play this game Project I.G.I, it came out about 2001.

Yes, mate - I played all of them - they were my introduction to FPS games, from which I moved on to the whole series of Tom Clancy games. Fond memories and very immersive - your picture takes me right back there

I think you're confusing "Rise of Flight" which is a derivative of IL2 with "Wings over Flanders Fields" which is a derivative or MOD for CFS3. WOFF is single player with a campaign while Rise of Flight is mostly multiplayer.

^ Yes you're correct - I suddenly realised this when I was over in a flight sim forum last night, looking at screenshots they'd been posting from ROF and WOFF

There was promise of a "Timelapse 2" but I don't think it ever eventuated. :wah:

Only games I play regularly are DCS, Wolfpack and Civ6.
