Hello!
Please help, I'm sorry but I translated it using google
.
After uploading the mod containing NSS 571 Nautilus when I want to enlarging the map in place of the submarine icon (or marker or tag) - in the place of black dot with tail - the following message appears: "Tga shape not found." On tactical map situation is the same.
I tried changing the dds file containing such an icon, of course changing the name to the appropriate one. It doesn't help.
Thank you in advance for your help and best regards,
mundio_73a
Without examples of how you changed it, it's hard to give definite answer. But it could be the files are at a different mod folder level than the mod code expects. Or it still has a different filename somehow. Screenshots makes this easier to answer.
Also please provide a link to the mod you are using. Saves me from having to hunt it down after a decade of not playing SH4.

If you are referring to your player submarine mundio_73a, then each submarine has a dds file named after them, such as the Balao has NSS_Balao_shp.dds in the Data /Submarine /NSS_Balao folder. You mention the "NSS 571 Nautilus". You could copy something like the :NSS_Salmon_shp.dds" from the NSS_Salmon folder and paste it into the NSS 571 Nautilus folder, whatever its name is, and then rename it exactly as the submarine name is for the other files in the folder, but retain that "_shp.dds" of the file... ?? Better still would be to do Pisces suggestion and supply more information.

Hello!
Thank you for the tip.
I know this method of operation. Unfortunately, it did not produce any results. Still the same problem.
best wishes,

Hello!
Thank you for the tip.
The problem is that this mod is USNnuclearSubs.rar and I didn't find it in the subsim collection - the package is from August 20, 2017 and is 71,875 KB.
The package contains several mods, I mean SSN_571_Nautilus.
I don't know where I downloaded it from.
The fact is that I did not review mods for a subscription.
I have already written to the admin about the possibility of uploading this mod to the subsim website, but I do not have any rights to it.
And now a graphical representation of the problem.
View on the map - with the ship's position tag:

And now we zoom in to see details and we get this:

And here's an interesting fact - something seems strange - I don't know if it's about graphic files or graphics card settings, but I'm sure it can be helpful

I would be very grateful for any help.
Yours faithfully,

Is this mod you have mundio_73a?
US Navy Nuclear Submarines (https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=5192) by jhapprich
ETR3(SS) is another nuke modeler... there is another fellow, but his name escapes me just now. ETR3(SS) recently retired from SH4 modding, but it keeping up via PMs. I have not seen jhapprich for a while... Anyway, if that's the mod, I'm not sure that was intended as a release version. It may have been, but there are some "backup" folders and files in there. In the meantime, if that is the mod you downloaded (or similar), then this should get you the bearing marker that I am guessing you are after:
NautilusShp.7z (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bRN3J4M391zjOVDUdEyAIJFfzYsrm6NY/view?usp=drive_link)
You will need 7-zip (https://7-zip.org) to open that mini-mod. It is a dds file that gets put into the NSS_571 folder. It is basically a copy of CapnScurvy's 1500 yard bearing tool, which is similar to the files Webster and others made.
Your second image there is a "wake" issue with the boat. There is a node in the sub's dat file that would normally be named "NSS_571_ShipWake", but since jhapprich used the Balao as his basis, it is named after that sub with "NSS_Balao_ShipWake", which is linked to a node in the val file of "GeometryShipWake". Some of the settings in that val file are slightly different than "normal" submarines, and perhaps those are throwing things off a bit. I'll try to find time to experiment with that on my machine sometime later. :salute:

Hello!
Thank you for such a quick response.
I uploaded the sent file where needed and changed the name to NSS_Balao_shp.dds. Without any effect, the same error still occurs.
The problem is that today I have already exceeded the maximum number of mods allowed for download, so I don't know if it's this mod. But judging by the description on his website, I guess it should be this one (contains the same ship names).
I have no idea how I missed this mod - I read the entire page mod by mod.
Yours faithfully,

That mini-mod I linked is on my Google Drive, so you should be able to download it without issue. See if that gets you that "bearing" icon you are looking for with your sub's image on the NavMap. :salute:

Hello!
You are a genius! It worked!
I read your post.
And this time I put your file into the appropriate directory without changing its name!
What's more - it was there together with the NSS_Balao_shp.dds file and it worked.
I'm sorry, but I already had the file name change drilled into my head so much that it didn't occur to me yesterday that I could do something different. Only when reading your last post I noticed that you didn't mention anything about the file name, so I left it unchanged, and it worked!
Thank you very much!
Yours faithfully,

Hello !
What about that strange colored spot around the ship floating on the surface (it was in the third image)?

The mod does not look like it is finished. The ship wake does not appear to be properly linked to the sub, hence the "placeholder" if you will, of where the semi-transparent "white" wake would be. If I get some time this week, I'll see if I can trace the linking and names in the files. It probably involves both the dat and val files...
