Love him or hate him, respect him or despise him - his influence on US foreign policy has always polarized opinions, and his arguing style and intellectual underpinnings of diplomacy is hard to overstate.
Cant say I liked or admired him, but I had to respect him for his mind.

trivia question: how many other former Secretary of State can you name without googling them?
He was only in office for 4 years, plus another 4 as NSA, but his influence on Amercian foreign policy was immense.
In foreign policy debates with friends, I am often accused of being a Kissinger-clone (which I take as a huge compliment) because I follow his brand of "RealPolitik", i.e. you have to deal with the world as it is, not as you wish it would be.
To a life well lived, RIP SIR. :salute:
A seminal figure in Cold War history and politics, but whilst some will be sad to see him go, a great many more will be glad to see the back of him.:hmmm:

There is a quote about MacArthur that I think also would apply to Kissinger.
"The best and the worst things you hear about him are both true."

I'm surprised He wasn't 'Ghosted' a LONG time ago!
Any bets his place is being cleared and everything disappears as We type?

I am old enough to remember when he WAS Secretary of State. At that time he was single and he was dating enough classy women that even TIME noticed and wrote articles about it.
As I recall, he was quoted as saying: "Power is the biggest aphrodisiac".
A man who knew how to enjoy life. :03:

I'm sure Chyna loves him. I wonder if he'd have done any of that differently in retrospect. :hmmm:
