How does one go about adding prestige? I want to use silentotto and start the game closer to the end of the war. The thing is that I'd like to add the latest tech that had been applied to the boats at that point. I just don't have the prestige needed to do that. I don't want to make the crew better, just improve the boat. Like it rolled out of the factory with the latest improvements and just needs a new captain and crew.

I did try a search of the forums but I didn't find anything. Although to be honest I only tried 5 different variations to find the info and had no luck.

If you start in 1944, the boat should come with all of the "standard" equipment available in 1944... unless silentotto doesn't do that... been too long since I tried that....

I tried starting a campaign in 1944 and it just gave the stock boat with no upgrades. When I wanted to add items it cost prestige. Since I had none to speak of I could only add one item.

That's why I was asking how to go about adding prestige.

I'm running with Dark Waters as well.

Wolves of Steel, my mistake, somehow confused SH5 with SH4 there.

I am not 100% certain, since my SH5 on this computer is bone-stock (I'm using it for menu*.ini file edits in SH4), but you could try to edit the Main.cfg file in the "C:\Users \UserName \Documents \SH5" folder (the Save folder), under the "\data \cfg" folder, and change the "Renown=500" line to some like 5000 instead. However, I don't know if that would work the same was as similar does in SH4. Perhaps someone who has actually done that will stop by. :salute:

Thanks sir! The search function is good but I have a heck of a time finding the right way to word it and find what I'm looking for.

I can usually find things easier by using an external search engine, such as Brave or Google, and starting my search with "site:subsim.com/radioroom ..." and then my guesses as to a good word or phrase to search on. You will get hits for ALL of the website, but it does seem to "rank" the hits better, though the external engines are getting rather "loose" with their results of late...
