Hello,

I've been lurking around here for a few years, but its the first time I post.
I've been playing silent hunter 5 wolves of steel with full realism for a few years now.
Usually I play for a few monthes learn some more stuff, try the campaign, get upset and leave it for a few more monthes, its a cycle.

I really enjoy this game and U-boats in general. I know how to navigate, I've read a lot about subs, read commander handbook and all that great historical stuff that makes this game great.
I know how to do a fast 90, but usually prefer Ausdampfverfahren or my favourite Auswanderungsverfahren.
I know the attack disk pretty well, front and rear side. How to measure speed using the u-jagd and raobf, range, aob....
I've read many posts on this forum on how to prepare tdc, seen many videos, and I can shoot my torpedos pretty damn well.

I've been mostly training/playing historical scenarios, because every attempt I make at the campaign I feel lost and unsure on what I'm doing. I'm just not sure on how to approach it, either I cant find merchants, or I stay at one spot for too long trying to find a target.

On the other day I insisted a bit more on playing the campaign even If I couldn't find anything and for the first time I was able to sink 2 merchants and unfortunately one big passenger ship that I did not notice was neutral.

When I ported at Kiel my renown was negative and wasn't able to buy any tropedos so I restarded the campaign, and once again I felt lost and left the game.

Any tips on how to approach the campaign, especially the first mission?

Sorry for the bad english and the poorly wording.

Thank you very much

how i patrol is in patrol area half day going north go back to where you start then half day running south and keep repeating if im by england then it kinda close to the shore running back and forth close to the ports or find a spot by one of the ports a spot you know the ships got to pass then wait and don't report to Bdu at the spot but haul tail out of that area at flank speed to a spot well away report then haul tail back to the spot contact report message is set to receive at 300 or 400 around me not the 800 that it set on only time i dive to use sonar is if the weather is bad and make sure fishing boats don't spot you now if i do get a unit spotted message by my patrol area i will go after it but it got to be close by the uboat is made for ambushing also early war ships alone and no escorts close by up to 4000 tons i use the deckgun also if nothing else i turn lose the aa gun on the ships
