View Full Version : How to install non-LSH2022 mods inside LSH2022?
Hi gang,
Long time since I last posted here, but I've come back to the game recently. I installed LSH-2020 and had it running, with an "external" mod with which I had Das Boot officer faces for all of my officers.
Today I downloaded and installed LSH-2022 on a fresh install of SH3, patched to 1.4b and although I have LSH2022 running, I am stumped at how to get mods that are not LSH2022-specific to run inside LSH2022. I'm not trying to tweak the game much, simply add some Das Boot officer faces to my game.
What I am specifically looking for is the folder into which I should place my Das Boot crew mod and then how to get JSGME to activate it inside LSH2022. There are two copies of JSGME in the LSH2022 folder and I have been trying to use the LSH2022 version to get the mod working. When I load the game I still see only the default crew faces.
Any help appreciated.

Officer icons are via a file called officer(x).tga in path data\menu\gui\layout. If the mod doesn't already have that folder format for JSGME, you'll need to make it yourself then put the mod
in and apply it with JSGME.
Thanks, John.
I installed OneAlex's mod and have been trying to get that one going. Everything is fine until I get to the loading screen after setting patrol options. The red bar flies quickly to the right side, then hangs there, fully coloured in but never loads into the game. I waited 25 minutes but no load. I may have to go back to trying to get LSH2022 running.
Your solution may work, but of course now I will have to do a full reinstall of LSH2022. I've never had problems installing mods previously via JSGME, so this one snag has been frustrating me. It could be as simple as putting the officer file in manually instead of JSGME.
After years of being away from the game it is certainly frustrating. I have LSH2020 running, but 2022? I will keep plugging away.
Thanks for your help.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the problem, no reason to have to do a full re-install of LSH2022. As long as you ahve JSGME in it, just double check that the mod path is correct. If nothing else, just re-install JSGME into LSH.
This has been a very strange day.
I struggled to get LSH2022 running again. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times and gave up. I tried to get the OneAlex mod going, but no luck. Anyhow, I've kept going and I am happy to say that I now have OneAlex supermod running. Have not done a patrol yet, just a quick spin around the harbour in the academy navigation practice.
I see I have some new commands to master, but the mod does seem to have good documentation, so I will plug away.
Thanks for your help, John.
