Running GWX, I attacked a convoy and salvoed a bunch of ships. I'm now out of torpedoes and used the last two (one in the front and one in the back) to knock two ships out of formation. I'm following the rearmost ship (it was going 7 knots in formation now it's going only 4) to kill it with the deck gun.

The problem is that the wind speed is 15m/s and has been since I left port. I've been following this ship for about a week. No change in weather.

I have full deck gun ammo. Can't use it.

BE91 course 6º oh and, of course, the medium cargo ship can shoot at me if I veer too close.

Hi Zosimus save your campaign come out of the game reload commander mod and SH3 and weather will have changed some.

i guess the Romanian developers had a continental view of maritime weather...

Both the h.sie and Stiebler V16B1 patches are supposed to contain fixes to stop continuous storms (among other good things). In my experience they are not completely effective. These mods patch sh3.exe and also require manual editing of data files: they are really difficult to get working. I can recommend Onealex's version of GWX as he has done all the hard work for you.

A LOT more from h.sie and Stiebler here: https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=177507

Not much help mid patrol I'm afraid.

The SH3 weather is supposed to change every 20-40 hours. More frequently near the equator and less frequently in the arctic. I always found with GWX that restarting the game from a save restarted the weather timer, so locked in the existing weather for another 20-40 hours. Now in NYGM a restart seems to change the weather. I was running Stiebler V16B1 in both cases (although maybe without the same options selected...)

Hey Hooston greeting..
In NYGM the weather works perfectly :yeah: ..and even after reloading the save:timeout:...have you played the latest NYGM 4.4 Enhanced Hardcore “Steel Coffins edition”????:06:That's if you're not afraid of Hardcore..
For GWX, an expert like Jimbuna will be able to tell you more..
Stiebler V16B1 has a bunch of documents for its understanding which are explained by its designer... Now many parameters can alter the functioning of this one.. it depends on the soup mod to use...

Sadly both my laptop and desktop PC are over 10 years old. Onealex and NYGM enhanced hardcore run in slideshow mode for me. I am over 2 years into a one month home improvement project and have decided I am not buying a new PC until I've finished.
