Jimmy Buffett passed away yesterday at 76. Jimmy always has a laid back, often tropically themed laced, good time music. Jimmy Buffett performed / wrote a song with Country Music artist, Alan Jackson titled, It's 5 o'clock somewhere. It was just a fun song. I have used that term a number of times over the years, being cheeky. Jimmy's shows always sold out and fans loved the shows, marking Jimmy's concert dates on their calendars.

Rest in peace Jimmy and thanks for the music and good times.

Good songs.
I was forced to overdose on Jimmy Buffett as the SCUBA instructor I worked for would only listen to him... all the time....every time.

My brother was a Parrot Head before there was such a thing. Now they're both gone.

I have always enjoyed his music. The story telling, the lyrics, the melody all make me feel good and happy when i hear them, and part of me mourns that he is no longer with us.
now... with that said
if you take away the fact that he is a famous musician and instead he was just James W. buffet, Insurance salesman that lives next door to me, i hate to think of the number of times the sheriff's office would have been called to settle our disputes, and in all honesty, one of us probably would have strangled the other by now.

Do you think it's asking too much If you at least pretend you have some class and not speak Ill of the recently deceased ? I didn't start this thread so you could air your grievances or Ill will. :nope:
You know the old saying, If you can't say something nice.......

Relax... the comment is made in jest, you know - as in the pesky neighbor you would pull out of a burning home but you just cant get along with him otherwise?
I imagine that if Jimmy Buffet were just the guy that lived next door - that is the kind of neighbors we would be with one another - thats all :timeout:.

Regardless of how you explain it, I found the comments crass and tasteless and I'm sure deep down, you know that too be true. The reality is, you're better than that. I'm sure Jimmy had his faults, like we all do. Speaking Ill of the deceased isn't how we do things in Subsim and it's just wrong.
I will let it go at that and not belabor the issue.

Fair enough - but fair warning - if you ever see a thread about nancy pelosi keeling over - you'd be wise to just scroll past whatever reply has my name on it :haha::haha::haha::haha:

Also fair enough and Nancy Pelosi, George Santos and any other political cartoon-ish character probably deserves anything and everything thrown their way. I'm good with that. :yep: As a good American, I have a sense of humor and can take a joke. I assume many of us are the same way and like a good joke as we elect so many " jokes " into public office. :yep:

Jimmy Buffet was anti-education and a dope smoker.
