There's a new naval title coming, with a free demo already available. It doesn't seem to have attracted much attention, but the screenshots and videos look very promising to me. And we can use all the decent naval titles that we can get.

Check it out! If you try the demo, let us know what you think, here on Subsim. The developers are asking for feedback and suggestions from the demo.

Maybe Onkel Neal could do a preview article to give us the full skinny.

Cheers!

I like how they appear to have scaled down the ranges so you can actually see the enemy. Not much reason for lots of polys if you've never going to see them. I think they need to scale down the speeds some more yet too. Looks like they have made battleships more reasonable, those greyhounds look like speed racer though. The models stand out well against the ocean too, the way I prefer.

I finally tried the demo. It's rougher than a cob, but playable. Part of it seems to still be in Chinese, but it's not difficult to figure out.

The gameplay seems okay. I sunk three ships. The ship modeling is tolerable, but nothing special. The demo reminded me very much of, "Battlestations: Midway" and, "Battlestations: Pacific".

So the conclusion is, if you're interested in an arcade naval title that's very reminiscent of the Battlestations titles, you might like this when it's ready.

If you prefer more serious naval fare, it probably won't be terribly interesting to you. Personally, I'll be patient and wait for, "Battleship Command".
