Changing time compression has no effect

It's been awhile since I've played this game. Got it installed with GWX3 and Ahnenerbe WideGui 1920 x 1080 Final. I had to patch my exe to 4GB

When I change time compression in main.cfg to 4096 it has no effect in game. Is this because my exe is patched or do I have to do something else too?

There's a duplicate main.cfg in the documents/SH3 folder. That's the one you need to modify.
