I can't choose between SH4 Wolves of the Pacific or U-Boat Missions.

First of all, I'm talking about choosing between of them from Steam store.
I've already seen videos on YT but I still can't decid which one.
Please share your experiences in both games and if you liked one more than the other, write what you liked and what you didn't like.

The versions Steam has with the game is "Wolves of the Pacific" is v1.3 or the game and "U-Boat Missions" is an add-on v1.5 of the game. In other words, in order to use the "U-boat Missions", you have to already have "Wolves of the Pacific". WotP is the US boats only. UBM adds the German Monsun Gruppe to the mod, and also fixes quite a few issues with the game. You will need / want to have both version if you use the Steam version. Ubisoft (https://store.ubisoft.com/us/game/?lang=en_US&pid=56c4948988a7e300458b47fa&dwvar_56c4948988a7e300458b47fa_Platform=pcdl&edition=DLC&source=detail) also sells the game, but it is what is referred to as the "Gold Edition", which is WotP combined with UBM (that is a US store link there). In any case, you will not want to install the game into the default folder if you intend to apply mods to it later. You will want to install the game into a folder (Library with Steam) you create yourself, such as C:\Games, and stay away from any Program Files folders, since Windows security does not like mods...

Now, most mods are written for the v1.5 (aka: Gold Edition aka: U-Boat Missions), and the regular v1.3 WotP is almost worthless. Why Steam uses the paradigm they do with the game is beyond me, but it is rather deceptive. They may have changed their methodology by now, and you might be able to just purchase the UBM, but you used to have to buy both versions since the UBM was an add-on. btw - both Steam and Ubisoft will have "specials" on those games, and you might see them going for as little as $3.00 US during "sales"...

i agree, wholeheartedly, with PB.
buy the WoTP-Uboat missions (ver 1.5)
it not only has the Ubi patches from the initial version (1.3) it is also the version on which most of the best mega-mods are based.

They're both so cheap on Steam, why choose. Buy them both. If you seriously can't spend $20 then you need to focus on your income abilities and drop your internet.
