Trying to install SH3 on a win 10 machine. When I put the disk in the (external) drive, the file manager crashes. Autoplay runs, but when I click install, the drive makes a noise like the disk is going back and forth, and eventually autoplay crashes as well.

Is there an issue installing on a win 10 system, or is it likely to be the disk? The disk is an original from I don't know how many years ago. It's not heavily used, as I always used the no-cd before running it. Or is it a starforce issue?

Can't be certain but it sounds like the disc to me.

Well, I guess no more SH3 for me. :(

Operation Monsun it is. Pity there isn't an SH4 commander.

If you want to play SH3 and you already own a DVD version. I recommend either Toytagt86 version2.2 or OneAlex version1.53, both are :

1. Very easy installation.
2. All the whistles and bells are pre installed in the download. That's no more patchining the SH3.exe, or messing around with a million sub mods. Heck the download includes the SH3 game itself so you DON'T haf to install the game from the DVD at all.
3. Up-dated every few months.
4 Beautiful and challanging

Hope this helps
