In German the correct term now is "gebärende Person": birthing person.

I was instructed that it was "better for the kids" to have an inclusive policy where all the students were mixed together--the smart kids, the troublemakers, the lazy, and stoopid kids--put them together in the classroom. That's so empty-headed stupid, my father pointed it out 50 years ago when I was a kid. You put the dumb kids and the kids who can't sit still in the classroom with the normal kids who will follow instruction, listen and try to learn: you get a classroom where the misbehaving kids get 90% of the teacher's attention just trying to get them to shut up and listen. The smart kids get nothing done, the diligent and obedient children get less attention and education, and the whole class suffers. All this is OBVIOUS, but ha, no, I was told firmly, smugly that being inclusive was the way to go. :haha: We now have several generation of idiots, all whom have the right to help decide policy and vote.

I live 20 minutes away across the river in Jersey. Used to go to Philly all the time. Not now. It's not just Kensington - almost all of Philly is dangerous due to a woke mayor, DA, and city council. Vastly different from the days when Mayor Rizzo had the police throw MOVE terrorists off of rooftops after they killed a cop.

I would argue it's even more dangerous than Camden (where I work). At least in Camden if you stay south of the Ben, north of the USS New Jersey, and West of I-676, you're relatively safe.

Principal Cari Perchase revealed that some students had organized an independent counter message to LGBTQ Pride festivities. The school attempted to make students wear rainbow colors to celebrate Pride, but many students revolted.

Counter-protesting students wore red, white, and blue, or black attire, including face paint. Additionally, stickers, banners, and signs were reportedly torn down and discarded in water fountains. "My pronouns are USA," the kids chanted.

Woke faculty members characterized the students' refusal to bend the knee to the rainbow mafia as "intolerence."

Triggered community members shared their reactions to the incident during the meeting, with one parent, Carl Foss, expressing his disappointment by stating, "I thought Burlington was a safer place."

Joanne Frustaci, a Burlington resident, complained to local news that it was "an unruly dispurtion" adding that it was "organized ahead of time."

"I recognize that discussions and celebrations of individual identity are complex and impacted by individual values, religions, and cultural norms, the result of which may include expressions of racism, anti-religious hate, ableism, and in this case homophobia" Superintendent Eric M. Conti wrote in a grovelling letter.

Principal Perchase acknowledged that the counter message was possibly triggered by the school's failure to recognize Memorial Day. School officials issued apologies to students on Monday, considering the lack of acknowledgment an unintended mistake.

“Respect for the observance of Memorial Day and respect for the LGBTQ community are not mutually exclusive,” she told local outlet 7 News Boston.

Any long haul flights I take (in excess of five hours) I usually go first class but this year the option for Mexico brought with it a premium of £910 so come September we will fly to Antalya , Turkey ( 4 1/2 hours) and additional leg room for us both each way only costs an extra £80 in total, far more reasonable.

Better sit down before you open your next Con Ed bill: Rates are set to soar, starting next month — and double over the next two years. If you’re a progressive, you can’t complain. What did you think would happen, based on your anti-fossil-fuel, big-spending, anti-business agenda?

On Thursday, the state’s Public Service Commission OK’d hikes of 9.1% for electricity and 8.4% for gas, starting in August, along with additional jumps though 2025. At that point, typical bills will have doubled, from about $70 a month to $140 — or an extra $840 a year.

A whining letter from the City Council demanded that Gov. Kathy Hochul use her executive powers to stop the pain. The letter called out an “already dire affordability crisis” and included specious worries about poor New Yorkers.

That “affordability crisis,” notably, is also of the left’s own making, thanks to its anti-housing, inflation-fueling polices.

Why is Con Ed hiking rates? True, execs at the company did enjoy a pay bump in 2022, with CEO Timothy Cawley getting a 4% hike in base compensation. But the central driver is idiotic green policies, both at the state and federal level — clamping down on fossil-fuel use, forcing infrastructure improvements to handle the shift, taxing utilities to the hilt, etc.

That fuels costs that get passed on to consumers. This week, Team Biden struck yet another blow in its war against domestic energy production, jacking up costs for drillers on federal land: Royalty rates will rise from 12.5% to almost 17%; minimum per-acre lease bids will quintuple. The administration estimates this will cost producers some $1.8 billion over the next eight years — with the possibility of yet more cost hikes to come.

A perfect prescription to discourage future exploration and make extraction more costly.

And the same progs whinging about Con Ed rate hikes applaud this nonsense.

I was glad to see the letter signed by 21 clinicians and researchers from nine countries that rejected the Endocrine Society’s claim that “gender-affirming care improves the well-being of transgender and gender-diverse people and reduces the risk of suicide” (July 14). In Oregon, activist groups and Democratic lawmakers used that claim to pass a new state law—signed by Gov. Tina Kotek right around when the letter was published—expanding access to these experimental, risky and sterilizing procedures.

The new law requires Oregon taxpayers to foot the bill and federal taxpayers to fund the medical-claims audit process. Oregon doctors also can now treat adolescents 15 years and older without parental permission or even notification. What’s happening in Oregon is a national scandal worthy of further investigation.

I think many Dems in America are still true liberals, but deplore the progressive culture. The problem is progressives control the party and when these common sense moderate Dems vote... Half of America is still fighting the far left progressive movement, but they have strong backing from global corporatist. I use to think a civil war in America was unthinkable, but not so sure now. I'm not sure what the answer is as moderates and the right have mostly sit back afraid of labels to fight back because the left controls so much of social media. I think that's why progressives are so intent on legally controlling language, once they do that, it's game over for the constitution.

Shivanthi Sathanandan, the second vice chairwoman for the DFL, shared news of her attack in a Wednesday Facebook post, where she fumed that the four young suspects need to be brought to justice.

“I have a broken leg, deep lacerations on my head, bruising, and cuts all over my body. And I have rage,” wrote Sathanandan, who said the beating occurred in front of her 4-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.

“These men knew what they were doing. I have NO DOUBT they have done this before. Yet they are still on OUR STREETS. Killing mothers. Giving babies psychological trauma that a lifetime of therapy cannot ease. With no hesitation and no remorse,” Sathanandan continued.
