View Full Version : Zig Right, Zag Left.
I propose that when a convoy Zigs, we stop saying
"Convoy Zig Right"
We instead say
"Convoy Zig"
If they Zag left, we say
"Convoy Zag"
*A*BCDEFGH*I*JKLM....
A is on the left side of the alphabet, I is on the right side. Would it not make sense to shorten it up by just saying, Convoy Zig or Convoy Zag?

I agree. And, for greater granularity, each 'A' or 'I' will signify 5 degrees of variance. Therefore, Zag is 5 degrees, Zaag is 10 degrees, and Zaaag will be 15 degrees off current course. :)

better than ordering a repeating skew apeirogon course. By the time someone figures out what that means, the torpedo has already hit. :D
"Left" and "Right" do not exist in the naval and maritime world.
"Zig" and "zag" would not be used, for the same reason that, "larboard and starboard" were changed to, "port and starboard".
That is all. Carry on.

I'm being serious, but I initially typed Port and Starboard and remembered many new crewmen who didn't understand.
Anyway, F it. I thought it was a good idea. I got tired of having to type out which direction the convoy Zig'd. Do whatever you want.

It actually is a good idea, I was just playing with you. But there is one thing that I need to know - In which title are we instructing the convoy to zig zag?
By the way, the middle letter of the alphabet is "M", so "I" is still on the port side along with "A". :haha:
