It was a sunny day and thus a sunny bicylce ride to my parents on the other side of the city, and I then prepared Turkish pita bread au gratin with a wok-fried filling based on fish, Feta sheep cheese, vegetables, and Gyros spice. My own creation.

Afterwards there came my Mum with hand-baked Dresdner Eierschecken (LINK (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eierschecke)), one of my favourite cakes. I ate an extra piece for each of you, since you kindly could not join the frenzy. :D

Freixenet sparkling wine, and coffee, and Baileys in three different tastes, and the glasses always were full nevertheless.

Eierschecken are wonderful, something like the deluxe version of cheesecake and then some, but they really need some working time invested, thats why I do not do them myself, even with a baking mix (which you must order online, supermarkets in my region do not offer it, its really a regional speciality and outside that region almost impossible to find in bakeries).

I could exclusively live of Eierschecken. And of Donauwellen. LINK (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donauwelle) . And of Guglhupf. LINK (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gugelhupf)And of Butterkuchen. LINK (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterkuchen).

I feast in cakes only once or twice a year. But then with a run-up and a header.

Mmm, some yummy cakes there but like you say often hard to find, so far my very best cake is the Rum Baba, Italian cake, they look odd: :03:
