"Say hello to my (sticky) little friend!"

A few times in SH3 and SH5 I have encountered the "sticky escort" bug. This is the first time I've ever had it happen with a friendly. I left Lorient, and I have this friendly destroyer that shadows me about 18KM away.


I hoped to drag it along with me (at 64X time compression!) on my mission but so far only neutrals have spawned. Would be neat to hit a convoy and have a commerce raider along for help! :)

Well, I gave up on using my little friend. No enemies were spawning. So I saved and reloaded, and then my little friend was like, "What the heck am I doing out in the middle of the Atlantic?" and made a beeline back for France.


Then I found a nice juicy convoy and wiped out most of the ships in it.


After my last attack, I had one torpedo left. All the remaining ships were low-tonnage junk, so I issued a coup de grâce and took out an escort as my goodbye gift.
