I would aks how it works if a small stone, branch falls into the mechanism. If it is ceramics, it holds- until it breaks. It does not bend.
Maybe for in-door hall sports on racing ovals. But in wild terrain or even in a rainy day in the city...?
I certainyl would not risk doing a long tour with it that carries me far away from any maintenance service point.

I never thought of that
I think however the idea behind it is good.
Would love to see how easy or hard it is to change this metal wheel on the back wheel. Cause as you said a stone or similar could break it.
