This is the pitchman for All state Insurance. I thought of him while trying to use the stupid GPS system in my lady's car yesterday. Naturally, it sent me all over the place. :k_confused:

This bloke's real name is Dean Winters. I don't think I would want a friend who seems to thrive on creating " mayhem." Come to think of, I don't think I would wish him on my worst enemy either. His laughing at : 20 seconds is hysterical. Dean is always entertaining. :haha: However, only if it happens to someone you " love. " :haha:

I thought everyone could use a good laugh.

Never used GPS - Aktung would probably say we don't need it on our tiny island

Indeed! I still use the paper maps/road-atlases, collected from my trukken daze; and county Thomas Bros mapbook guides from my appraisal career. My-soon-to-be replaced cell phone (G3 upgrade to G5 by years-end)does not have GPS; which caused problems when reporting one major flood and one major fire to 911 services. When touring Ireland, Scotland's Isle of Skye, and southern England, (to Laycock)it's paper maps...especially ones with the distilleries marked on them!:Kaleun_Cheers: My daughter's GPS cellphone backs me up: but makes occasional navigation errors too. That caused us to drive our rented Audi through a Scottish pasture tractorpath to one distillery!!? I use GPS on the boat though..." What a fascinating modern age we live in..."http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/images/ranks/luckyjack15.jpg :arrgh!:
Then imagine those who want to become a taxidriver in London-They have to memorize every street and other things before the examine.

^ Yes - they call this "The Knowledge". We saw a fascinating documentary film about it once

When my lady and I are driving together, we rarely need GPS. It's a good thing too as only she knows how to operate the " stupid thing. " She tells me all the time that swearing at it or beating on it like a typical man doesn't work. Silly me.
Then again, she drives a lot of the time. Sometimes, my life flashes before my eyes when she is driving. That's okay though, I love a parade. :D
Other times, when I'm driving, she is only too happy to tell me " where to go." The destination is always the same place too. :D She tells me this even when I don't ask for directions. :03:
Sometimes when she drives now, I blindfold myself and smoke a cigarette even though I don't smoke. It seems to help. :)
I'm a great driver. I always tell her to just ask me and I will tell her so. :D She just rolls her eyes at me. A GPS system can't do that.
All jokes aside, she is probably a better driver than I am, especially at night. I navigate and adjust the radio stations and volume. That's my job. Come to think of it, I don't think she trusts me to do anything else. :haha:
My depth perception seems to be off. This is why I don't drive a motorcycle at night.

/\ likewise; with my better half who is always directing or cautioning me when I drive...how I ever got a freightliner to and from 48 states; or 17 years in my patrol Corolla guarding ATM techs at night throughout the middle 3rd of CA w/o her insistent assistance is a mystery. :O: Blue-glare headlights & depth perception issues at night; and one flood occasioned my own retirement at 69. Amazingly, My ex-employer recently tried to coax me back; but I'm no longer 'licensed to kill" at age 71!:shucks:
