Silent Hunter 3 crash to desktop when using navigation map.

Hey, so I have an issue that's been bothering me for a while, Silent Hunter 3 has been crashing occasionally when I use the navigation map, I have the GWX 3.0 Gold mod enabled, and I have patched it with the 4gb exe patch, (prevents the game from crashing during later war years) and I still have this problem, is there a potential fix for this? I love this game, played it for years, it's very frusturating when I've nearly reached a specific area, and the game crashes because of me using the navigation map around, it's so irritating, any tips and tricks and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Assuming there's no other underlying issues going on, my best advice would be to avoid scrolling the map at high time compression. At least on my last install this always gave a significant drop in frame rate. You can test it by pressing ctrl+F8 - you'll see a tiny frame counter at the top of the screen. If that's the case and something happens to spawn in at that exact moment, then guaranteed CTD. Additionally, I've always believed the issue to be more prevalent if using the mouse to move the map. Better to use the arrow keys. Of course, this is just my conjecture.

Try to open it as administrator, also check the files of the game they can often get corrupted after a crash of the game.

Okay, I've tried this, and the game crashes on the nav map even when it's at it's lowest time compression, 50 FPS, any ideas?

try to see with this.... then which card do you use because it seems to me that there are optional cards in this mod I don't know because I haven't played it for a long time.... what is your config.. give more details on your mods installed if you want us to understand the problem...:salute:
