New member, 82 years old, not very comp savvy but am trying
Windows 10
Installed SH5 from disk, updated as required.
Selected the SH5.exe as Admin. Did not load.
Used the mod DVD SH5.exe, Ran this as Admin.
Game now loads with Main Menu. New Campaign, Historical Missions, etc. etc.
Selected New Campaign and kept the skipper name. Accept. Total Germany, medium difficulty. Started and indicator stuttered here and there, pictures showed then a sudden black screen and returned to sh5.exe location.
Retried with Historical Mission, Past the Rock. Same happened but this time picture showed, and partially loaded but then same as before.
Installed LAA but same effect

Ok, now that the greeting is out of the way, on to your... quandry... :shucks:
Hmmm... :hmmm:
:timeout:
What is the install pathway... in short, just where did you install it at, exactly.
Am gonna hazard a guess & say, it sounds like you went with the default install locality... meaning either in C:\Program files or C:\Program files (x86)
Neither locality, do you ever... EVER want to install at.... especially nowadays what with Win 10, thanks to UAC... which will sabotage any installs that are modded, even if you tell Windows, to allow it to be done. :yep:
Best thing to do, is install either in a user created folder like C:\Games\SH5 or to a totally separate hard drive, altogether. :yep:
Hope this helps... :shucks: :yep:

Ok, do you have Ubisoft Connect game launcher set up & an account to it... as it could be that it has to have that bloody connection to Ubi the same as with having SH5 through Steam & Ubisoft, themselves... as strange as it may seem, it could well also require that even with SH5 from a disk. :hmmm:
Once you have Connect downloaded & set up, an account set up to log in on it... try running SH5 once more...
if everything runs after that, simply exit SH5 & go into the launcher for Connect & can then set it to offline mode & should have no issues after that with running SH5... from then on.
Hope this helps... :shucks: :yep:
