I like how he also shows sense for beauty and asthetics, not just functionality. I have big respect for people able to do something like this. I could build a bivak, even a weather-prove biwk if need be - but a hobbit house like this, and then so cozy, and alone without a second pair of hands helping out? No, thats beyond me. At least in this skilled execution.

Yes, I have seen such remarks as well, I think there are two types of guys at work.

The one indeed claims to do everything by themselves, but I start to become suspicious when they even make their tools themselves and do advanced woods craftsmanship with primitive wooden tools.

The other do not hide that they use technology and electric tools, steel naisl instead of selfcarved wooden nails, they use civilisational aids of metal, glas, plastic, and do not try to brag with that they do not need these.

Of course that is no evidence for everything, but I try to make sense of it this way.

The video posted, to me looks believable. Only that his solar battery will always get enough light on the panel while being in the forest - but then, I do not know the real and realistic lighting conditions in that specific place. And I konwo that last year I tested my panels and was surpised how well they worked even at overcast sky. Not perfect, but better than I expected.

Anyway, it is indeed relaxing to watch such films, faked or not. Very relaxing.

Pretty impressive build, I like it, a lot and like you said relaxing. I’m not knocking it or his methods but only thing I might have done different would be to build a raised floor so any rain water coming down the hill would flow under.

Still though it’s pretty nice backyard project/man cave/hobbit house.

It's all fine and dandy until the Blair Witch moves in. :D

One of the most ridiculous (by which I mean ridiculously-skilled) videos on this subject that i've seen is from some Russian lawyer dude from St Pete. This guy makes everything. I hate him.
