For a while I have been toying with doing this one but here is a brief overview of the Trafalgar class SSN.

The article doesn't go into heavy detail for obvious reasons as HMS Triumph is still commissioned and a lot of details remain classified.

In the article is some nice cutaways it shows you the boat inside and I have used some of my own pictures in the article as well.

I would say the Trafalgars were an "icon" of the (late) cold war and post-cold war period. Hard to not know them by name.

They were indeed an icon like the 688s
