Insertion missions in shallow areas are up there, BUT I have had the least success attacking convoys in the black of night with heavy rains and sea swells. I need to work on sonar approaches because I've been unable to locate ships visually, on the surface or at PD, until they are close enough to ram my boat.

yes. in this regard, SH4 is very digital, meaning that you either have visual confirmation and can estimate distance to target, bearing, AOB OR you have none of that...which is not the least bit like real life.
