HELP: KSD Commander not working

I installed SH5 through ubisoft and then installed WOS next. It installed to the ubsoft directory but when I load the game it's SH5 vanilla. I click on the KSD commander icon and it says it has to be in the root folder first. I try and download the mod and it says file not active.

Don't I need to access SH5 through KSD Commander icon?

Did you by chance install the SH5 game in a Program Files folder? On my computer, I have to have all of the SH games outside of the realm of a Program Files "protection", so I created a "C:\Games" folder on my hard drive, and install in there. That way, when a mod is applied, Windows doesn't attempt to rollback the changes.

I would second what prop ask also did you run sh5 once before you installed TWoS you don't have to start from kds but generally that how I start it
