That came a little bit unexpected, didn't it?
I speculate: somebody wants the US to sign the nuclear deal with Iran although the US drifts away from doing so due to sanctions against Russia. Somebody shows what w/could happen if he does not get what he wants. Russia demands to benefit economically from any such deal.
Ukraine and Russia.
Now Iran, Iraq and USA.
Next Taiwan and China?
^ We have an interesting time ahead of us.
Didn't Iran support Russia ?

More or less the other way around, but: yes.
However, the attack there could also be some internal Shia-Sunni feud. Or sdomethign between ethnic groupos. Or clashes for influence between the Mullahs in Iran and Iraqi clerics. As I said: I speculated in the post above.

Thank you.
So a military response from US will not happen as I predict.

Who knows?
It depends on the results of their investigation. If they think it was indeed an attack on the embassy, some places in Iran have a hard time ahead of them.

Ice Cream equipped Cruise Missiles probably.
Can I have one of those please? :yep:
According to the news here and there- these ballistic missile was against the American consulate.
Iran has claimed responsibility for a missile barrage that struck early Sunday near a sprawling U.S. consulate complex in the northern Iraqi city of Irbil, saying it was retaliation for an Israeli strike in Syria that killed two members of its Revolutionary Guard.

There has been no confirmation of the launch from Iran, but Iranian state media cited sources as saying that "secret Israeli bases" were targeted.
The attack came six days after two senior officers in Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps were killed in a suspected Israeli air strike near the Syrian capital Damascus. The IRGC had vowed to make Israel "pay for this crime".

Iran once again this time Saudi Arabia says Iran is planning on attacking their Kingdom and some city in Iraq.
Iran on Wednesday denied it was planning an attack on Saudi Arabia or Iraq amid civil unrest calling for the downfall of the Islamic Republic, insisting that it was trying to build constructive relations with its Middle East neighbors.

That's Saudi Arabia's problem. Since Iran has buddied up with Russia, Let Arabia run to Russia for help. Leave us ( the U.S ) out of it.

I fear that USA will be part of this since they are allied with Saudi-Arabia and are by proxy already at war with Iran-They support Saudi-Arabia's war in Yemen.

Perhaps allies until Saudi Arabia cut production of crude oil and drove up prices in collaboration with Russia. This act has been one of the driving factors in inflation here. Arabia has American military equipment that will need spares parts and technical updates. I say let Arabia fend for itself. Let them also buy inferior Russian weapons. We can all see how well they work in the Ukraine.
Saudi Arabia has always been an ally of convenience. The U.S and Saudi Arabia shared a common enemy in Iran, not a common goal. Now, Saudi Arabia has aligned itself with Russia.

Under increasing pressure at home, Iran lashes out at rivals abroad
As protests rage at home, Iran is lashing out abroad, threatening long-time rivals in an attempt to undermine opposition to the regime by claiming foreign subversion.
American news outlets late Tuesday cited unnamed Saudi and United States officials warning that Iran could be preparing an imminent attack on US forces or the assets of the kingdom in the Middle East. Iran has also seen increased border tensions with neighbouring Azerbaijan, which Tehran eyes as a regional rival close to Israel.
Iran has already launched artillery strikes in northern Iraq-based Kurdish militant groups that it has accused of fomenting unrest in the country. It has also accused Germany, which hosted a massive rally of Iranian exiles, of culpability in a 26 October attack on a shrine in the city of Shiraz that was claimed by Isis.
Analysts say the attempt at placing blame on outsiders for Iran’s domestic woes is meant to shore up support among regime loyalists.
“They are building up a case for their own supporters that foreign enemies have a direct hand on the ground for what is happening with the protests,” said Ellie Geranmayeh, an Iran expert at the European Council on Foreign Relations, a think tank. “That is not going to work with the protesters or with the general public, but it is aimed at ensuring that there is an external threat to keep the security apparatus loyal to them.”
