A few weeks ago my laptop got damaged and i had to change my hard drive, and now i have many problems. On many sites i get errors like "Your connection is not private",and i also cannot install many programs such as antiviruses, and my windows cannot search for updates.
I installed silent hunter 3,but i have a problem where there are no explosions. For example,if my torpedo hits a ship,it says torpedo impact,i can hear the sound of the explosion, and it sinks. If a depth charge explodes,it simply dissapears, there is no explosion animation, but my submarine takes damage.Shells too,if they hit a ship, they dissapear, but they do damage.
I thought that the reason this happens is because i don't have directX installed, but when i try to install it,it says "A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled."
I tried installing this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
And it does install.I played the torpedo training mission, and my torpedoes did explode. However, when i played a career or single mission, they didn't explode, and if i tried to play the torpedo training mission, the torpedoes also didn't explode.I reinstalled directx several times, and then i tried the torpedo training mission again, and the torpedoes exploded, but again, after i played the single missions or career,it didn't work again.
Now it seems like even if i do install directx again, the torpedoes do not explode anymore, even in the training mission.
I will soon buy a new computer anyway, but it will take some time, and until then i will have to keep using this piece of junk.
I doubt any fixes exist, but does anyone have any idea about what should i do?

In my experience, problems like you stated are due to OS problems. Not a current version, etc. and it can't be updated because there is not enough room on the HD.

Um. Memory Capacity is listed as 1 GB?
:hmmm:

I know, it can be strange. Mine was 3 gb and it was telling me not enough memory to install the newer OS. It depends on how much the system thinks is already used on the hd and what is left as available, accurate or not.
The op's "replaced the hd" statement is interesting in this regard.
