You may have noticed a new forum at the bottom, Best of SUBSIM Nominations.
Do NOT post in that forum. There is a guide that explains how to nominate a member, thread, post or mod/modder, I will copy it here.
I have tested the system and it seems to be working fine. So, going forward, if you read a post you think is especially funny,
or see a thread that has a lot of replies and good discussion; maybe you have noticed a really helpful member;
or there is a mod that was created in this calendar year that has an impact, etc.
Feel free to use this system to nominate the post! :Kaleun_Applaud:

Please be sure to only nominate significant and noteworthy posts and actions. That does not mean you can only nominate once, but don't nominate 3 times every week, you know.
At the end of the year the nominations will be tallied for voting on the winners.
thanks, let me know here if there are any issues with the system.

@ Onkel Neal... :Kaleun_Cheers:
Thanks for simplifying the process & also taking the time, to explain it.
Knowing how it goes... will look forward to (for this years nominations & nominees, and moving forward to future ones, as well. :yep:) in knowing how the whole process works.
Kudos :Kaleun_Wink: :Kaleun_Thumbs_Up:

How was it before ? I don't even know how/who/how many voted for my 2021 nomination and why... So, I can't even thank anyone.

There was no real system before, people would simply comment at the end of the year. I thought this would be easier and handier, where people could note BOS noms throughout the year as they came across them.

Really like this new system.
I just hope people don't abuse it and that you have an over view Team to avoid Voter Fraud!
If the system gets suspected you may face a January 6th incident!

Added Best News Contributor and Best New Member of 2022.
Capt. Wallace suggested this. As for New member, this is an award based on a year's activity, so nominating someone in January or February doesn't make much sense, have to see who is still around and active by the end of the year. :ping:

Again i failed to nominate some with excellent posts - i asked Jim before whether i could nominate someone several times and he wrote yes, but the range of choices does not supprt this view:
Outstanding Member
Most Helpful
Funniest Post
Mod/Modder of the Year
Post of the Year
Thread of the Year
Best News Contributor
Best New member of the Year
Test Option (to try out the system)
When i like some post i want to nominate none of those above apply properly.
"Funniest", only works once? But there are lots of, also by different members, sometimes by the same.
When someone posts a funny one in january and i nominate him/her maybe a better one comes along in december which is then the funniest? Shift the nomination? There can only be one 'funniest'.
And i probably do not find all those posts again after a year.
Same with the other nominations.
A lot are outstanding members - but this is the only nomination to be properly applied to different persons(?)
One person may have made several funny posts, or several members.
So as i see it i can only apply nine choices, and none several times or the same to different members.
Sorry, but am i the only one who does not quite understand how this works? :hmmm:
yeah i know i'm too dumb :salute: :haha:

I just used the Nominate Post button twice but it doesn't seem to have worked - seemed to be the perfect system but nothing's turned up here yet
That's because the nominations don't show up here, instead they show up in their specific nomination threads here:

I guess just nominate him again...?

Agreed, I'm up for suggestions, let me know what you think.
Free click(= Likes) in the different category and the one who got most click
Meaning I can click on two or three in one category without any explanation and I can do so in every category.
In the end the owner of the specific post who got most clicks(=Likes)wins.
Like on FB-where you press Like but does not post any comment.
I know can't be done.

I believe vBulletin has an in-built reputation system that allows users to give/take reputation points from posts.
