View Full Version : Problem getting Magui F working with NYGM
Hi guys,
I'm having an issue getting Magui F runnng with NYGM. I've tried the Widescreen MaGui v3.4 standalone along with the NYGM Fix.
This is slowly driving me crazy as I've uninstalled/reinstalled the game (steam version) around 6 times now. Any help would be appreciated! :06:
My Mod list:
NYGM Tonnage War V2.5
NYGM3_New
NYGM_6F
IABLShipsforNYGM_New_Thomsen
NYGM_HiRes_Submarines_3_6F
Widescreen MaGui v3.4-SA
Widescreen MaGui v3.4-SA FIX for NYGM V2017A
Supplement to V16B1 (JSGME)
WYGM
EnvSimAct_10
This is the UI I have, which isn't correct.

But I believe this is what I want.

I don't see #4 in this (https://www.subsim.com/mods1/nygm/) list posted in your mod list. Also, you have two widescreen mods in your list.

Hi,
I removed it and the game didn't launch. Instead I git a pop-up box saying
"Can not initialize 3D engine"

Hi, I've added the 4th file but nothing changed regarding the UI.
What's the 2nd widescreen Mod?

Hi, if your monitor does not support 1360x768 resolution, there is no way to start widescreen magui, if it does not support 1024x768, you can't start magui F.
What resolution does your monitor support?

No, the fourth file doesn't deal with wide screen. But it is needed. See it's documentation for details.
You have both the Magui and wygm mods; they're both wide screen mods.
See ivanov's reply.

Thanks Ivanov.
My Monitor is 1920 x 1080.

If you choose this option, it will be a bit more complicated, as the exe is already patched with a 4 GB patch of supplements, without selecting the other options from the selector, and then with a Tycho patch.
For this it will be easier for you with the second link in my opinion

Much Appreciated!
I actually started out playing yesterday using "ARB WideGui 1920x1080_nygm" but really wanted to try MaGui F for the Manual TDC set-up after watching Bstanko6's youtube video. I guess I'm stuck with the 1920x1080 UI mods!
What type of monitor would I need to purchase to get it working?

Then select the resolution 1024x768 from the list you have applied and see what happens
https://i.postimg.cc/G2GRgbw8/monitor-screenshot.jpg
but before remove from the list WYGM,Widescreen Magui,Widescreen Magui fix,set Magui F over the top of the list, and the end https://www.mediafire.com/file/x2npcyaxfafq9ec/MaGui_F_FIX_for_NYGM_v2017A.rar/file
I've tried every setting in my list and none have the correct display.
Just to be sure I'm now using https://www.mediafire.com/file/czjk59dv99ev2wg/The_MaGui_mod_%2528Final_Version%2529.rar/file with https://www.mediafire.com/file/x2npcyaxfafq9ec/MaGui_F_FIX_for_NYGM_v2017A.rar/file on top.
At least I'm not getting the pop-up warning any more, its just that most of the game is cut out of the screen :)

After a lot of head scratching I managed to create a custom widescreen resolution of 1360 x 768 using my Radeon software.
The widescreen magui now works, so thanks again!

I thought I was out of the woods but..
I've managed to get Wac Magui 1366x768 up and running although I can't see the Rangefinder!
I have clicked using my mouse around the top of the screen in case it's hidden, but it won't reveal itself. Anyone know if this is a bug or a separate Mod or something else. I can't create a torpedo solution without it (I don't think!)
This my screen

Learn the 90 degree angle attack and range won't matter anyway. :D
Hello, how did you change the resolution with Radeon? Regards

Ahoy, 880-5 :Kaleun_Cheers:
Am assuming here, through the control panel for it... know that Nvidia, has such a beast for their graphics... (that I know of last I checked, at any rate. As for newer cards nowadays... am not sure if those still include it, but... venturing a guess... would likely think so. :hmmm:) If that is the case, then is a relatively simple task of opening it up & going into the sub menu "Display" sub menu in that menu of "change resolution" then in there, set up a custom rez, save & then telling the computer to use that 1 for a game, that called for having to go to all that trouble setting up a custom rez to play it.
Would be soooo nice, if engineers & dev's... would stick to a standard on anything, but nooooo.... they can't do so or leave well enough alone when things work right. They have to putz things up... :Kaleun_Mad:

Hello, how did you change the resolution with Radeon? Regards
Download the Radeon Software & open it up.
Go into Gaming>click on SH3 (within the Radeon Software)>Global Display>Create New Custom Resolution and add what you need
