Religious fanaticism or mentally ill

The person behind yesterdays terror in Norway was a Danish citizens who have converted to Islam and turned into a Fanatic Islamist.

Today I have read comments like

It has nothing to do with Islam he was mentally ill
and others It has everything to do with Islam and not that he was mentally ill.

So was it religious fanaticism or mentally ill that was the cause of this persons acting ?

I'm convinced it's combination of both.

Seeing he shot mainly women, I am going to go with he was a serial femicide, a sexual terrorist.

What's most terrifying in all this is the police action.

The police approach him around 1800 hours, after people had called them to the scene, but the Norwegian police hasn't any weapon on them so they had to withdraw from the scene, when the terrorist start shooting arrows after them.

First 35 minutes later the police manage to arrest him AND during these 35 minutes he killed those 5 people and wounded 3 others

This ^ Was told in the news here the day after.

He could have been stopped before his killing.

Police officers are not armed with firearms during patrolling, but have weapons locked down in the patrol cars. Arming of the locked-down weapons requires permission from the chief of police or someone designated by him.

As an NB. The Paris shooters were also dopehead losers. A bunch of US jihadists were caught carrying pamphlets like "become a muslim in 5 steps". Incidentally they too were losers.
In Denmark there is a (known to police and intel) mullah with a pronounced violent anti western view. In the Uk, they too have known violent anti western mullahs.

Their prime recruitmemt targets? Dopeheads carrying resentment
