Join me for a bicycle ride around my neighbourhood and the closer vicinity of the place where I live. I take you through the outskirts of Münster's "Eastend", a calm, burgoise and mostly pleasurable place (some would call it a bit lifeless... LOL), and then outside the city through one of the most idyllic and romantic pieces of nature around here, along tiny river Werse. We do the complete trip from my garage to my garage, 24km on a lovely golden sunny autumn day.

I do this ride occasionally for the beauty of the sights, and the turning point of a Chinese restaurant where I have them packing my saddle bags with 3 or 4 lunch packs that last me through the week, the food is tasty, plentiful, and the prices are extremely modest (outside the city, not in the city centre, so that might be the reason why they can and must be cheaper). I love this tour, although it is quite short. Join me! :Kaleun_Thumbs_Up:

Please do not post the link publicly and all over the web, and especially not in Germany. Shooting videos like this is very illegal in Germany and German youtube is infested with unscrupolous and specialised Abmahnanwälte lurking around, seeing themselves as plaintiff, prosecutor, judge and executioner in personal union - and profiteer. I violate half a dozen of German laws with shooting videos like this, its hilarious, it reaches from severe violation of personal rights over assumption of office - they rate such videos as an unauthorized traffic count - serious ! - to severe interference with road traffic! Mind you, German is the language that has this word, "VERBOTEN".

This is also the reason why only harmless squirrel videos are on the channel now, all the bicycle videos are "not listed", they cannot be seen without direct links and cannot be searched for and found. If somebody is interested to learn about them, ask, and you get direct links. Mostly it is 5x speed films of tours between Münster and Osnabrück.

I do these videos mostly for my parents. They are too old to go over these distances anymore. I put a VR helmet onto them, they go into a stereoscopic cinema, and on the huge screen there is my film running. They LOVE it. That way, we can share the experience, although with a timely delay.

And why not, while I am at it I post another one from Spring this year. Its part of a total tour I did that had over 150 km.

Its eye yoga, a monotonous (wanted!) contemplative experience, you will soon understand why, because it describes the socalled RadBahn between Rheine and Coesfeld, some 50 km. It is a bicycle highway built on a former railtrack - and thats why the drive is almost in a straight line most of the time, it looks as if you sit on the nose of a locomotive. Its quite meditative, and thus: relaxing. And maybe tiring. LOL

The music was picked with an eye on copyrights, whereas above I ignored that and picked Dido (I get a complaint by Youtube, and that I cannot monetarise it, but else the video is not deleted). Its not really music, but the choices I find when needing something long and free of copyrights, are limited. It fits this special job, however. I did many later videos with classical piano music, that also mean copyright infringements and described warnings without further consequences. I do not really see the logic there, but youtube lets me do it.

Sorry for having posted the first movie too early, but their very slow HD processing this time took me by surprise. Usually it goes much, much faster.

I bumb this thread tomorrow if they are done then. For tonight: good night.

Lovely place, looked like the perfect day. Nice places to sail model boats too, unless verboten of course.

No, you can even lease paddle boats there. Glad you enjoyed it.

The video now is completed rendering to HD - in mYoutube, the mobile app. Its messy how it works, they must have changed it for the worse.

Great video thank you for sharing the fine nature in your surroundings.

Münster...I have when I was a kid been in or driven through this town Münster.

Toke a look at google maps...No it was Neumünster in northern Germany.

Then I remember When I toke the train to Holland in 2005 it went through Münster (I'm pretty sure it did)

Visit Google Earth, check Europe for Streetview, and be amazed. Germany is a white spot that has almost no streetview available.

Back when Google did the work for it, German government decides that the germans should not have Streetview, and that it is too offensive for people's rights. So they set up so many regulations and limits and demands that Google finally was fed up with the germans, packed its things and said: we're done with you. Only the 12 or 20 biggest cities in Germany have streetview, amognst them of course Berlin. The cities as they were 15 years ago, that is. The data gets not updated by Google.

Actually streetview is very popular with the Germans. Two years ago click data showed that nobody in Europe uses it more than the Germans. I use it too, in VR. Its fantastic, and I am thankful for it. Its one of the things thatn Google did very very well, and its one of the few opportunities when I fullheartly thank them for what they do. I would even wil to pay a yearly fee, if it is reasonably and not too high. 5 Euros per month or so would be worth it for me. However, i have no Google stuff active on my smartphone, and no Google maps. What they do well for PC, they do terribly ill on mobile users.

The German government wanted to get away with telling the Germans that Google got so many demands for pixelating private houses that this was what made them move away. Google strongly objected to that lie and illustrated that actually in germany there were fewer demands for pixelating private houses than there were in the UK or in France: each of the two countries had more such demands than Germany, while Germany has a clearly bigger population than France or the UK.

If you ever visit germany, dont forget to set your watch back by twenty years or so.

Markus Yes Münster is close to the Netherlands, I could reach the border and visit Enschede on bicycle in around 3 hours, if I want. I planned to do so last yar and this year, but Corona had different plans.

All others, thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Me too thinks that in picking this music I had a lucky hand there, I just tried the album, and it immediately matched, even certain tracks with certain video segments, almost perfect. I am glad that I had the idea for pickingn this music, it makes a huge difference. I was not sure whether Yiutube would let it pass, but they did, there is a complaint, but no ban or consequences. I could not monetarise it if that were what i wanted, and that is understandable.

I see it this way. 30, 40 years ago we had cassette tapes, and Gemna law at least was fine with copying record albums on such tapes for family, opwn use, and a close circle of school friends. But the commercial multiplication of a record album would be under persecution, which of course is fine. I think google does something along this thinking, too.

If I would have known it earlier, many videos I did in the last 3 years would have gotten mjch better music background. They suffer all more or less from focussing on royalty-free and thus: not well-matching music I added to them.

Next year maybe is th time to record the oldest, earliest tours once again, in better technique, and then better music added. Doing remakes, so to speak.:D
