Voice Attack Profile and input of Text

I am working on a VoiceAttack Profile for SH3. I found that the file called <install_dir>\data\Cfg\Commands_en.cfg (or other language if you are playing one), has all the shortcut keys listed.

I have a VAP that has all the short cuts and it is quite helpful. But two things I would want to add are:

1. A numeric heading input.

2. A numeric input (or certainly smaller rudder than hard right and hard left).

I see in that file that CMD180 and CMD181 might be the way to input these values.

Does anyone understand how to input text into one of these CMD's directly for the game?

I need to work on my VAP .. right now it is quite linear for just the shortcut keys. I would be happy to share it .. and even open up a github repo if there is community interest in developing a VAP.

Hello, Hughes Jr.,

Serendipity strikes again! I would like to get into the line for your VAP.

I am severly impaired visually, mostly blind but, I am able to see well enough to read and write and play games with a device made by 'Iris Vision'. It looks like a VR headset and uses the camera in a phone with lenses that allow me to use the peripheral vision that I have to compensate for the loss of my central vision.

I have used Voice Attack in combat flight sims and it worked great. The pace of the fiight sims is way too fast for me so, I have turned to SH3 which by the way, I only got working about 2 hous ago using ONEALEX and I have been wondering if anyone here is using Voice Attack and BAM....there you are.

I would be quite happy to assist you in any way that I can. I know that putting together the voice commands with the actions if a pain but, I found a program that makes it much easier. I will have to look it up if you are interested. It can be found on the "Veterans Gaming" site. I may have that name wrong since my memory synapses are like a sieve.

Get back to me if you can use the help of a total noob who doesn't know the game and doesn't see too well.

What I have right now seems to work fine, though it is very basic.

You can say things like:

Command, Command Room, Control, Control Room (or 'go' followed by those and you end up going to the 'Control room', etc.)

Message or Messages to read messages, etc.

If you have voice atttack, you can open up the profile and tweak it.

I'll try to attach the profile to post 1.

(Edit: could not attach it directly to post one .. but, I was able to point to it on the voiceattack.com website.)

Anyone who wants to take a look, you should be able to grab the VAP file from the bottom of the Download link in post one above.

People might ask .. why use this voiceattack instead of just using sh3speech. Well .. the sh3speech was written for GWX 2 and it replaces the Commands_en.cfg (or the de version) file. So, anything new in that file (from the original GWX 2) in the mod you are using will not work .. as this file will replace the new one. And if you use the newer file from your current mod .. the sh3speech will not work. This means, you will have to figure out how to combine the files to make it work. I would much rather not have to do that.
