CO2 still climbing on surface

Probably a newb question... Search gave me nothing. Running FOTRSUN 1.46, which is awesome. On the surface my CO2 keeps climbing. What am I doing wrong?

Figured it out? Was it from tabbing out of game to do things on secondary monitor, that is what usually does it for me. Saving and reloading the game fixes that.
