Game crashing to desktop

Whenever I load a campaign save, the game just crashes.
Mods I use:
GWX 3.0 Gold
H.sie patch
Tychos patch
ARB WideGui 1920x1080
Torpedo damage final ver. 2.0
Rubini's underwater dust & plancton
Rbs1_SH4_Effects_GWX 30_71
M.E.P v6
M.E.P v6 - Visual sensors for GWX3
LifeBoats&Debris_v4
4gb patch
ARB WideGui Fix (in order for the map to work)

Without that the ARB WideGui is broken (for me), you can learn more on the widegui thread

Lots of reasons campaign saves can CTD.
Were mods changed during the campaign?
Saved with any of the known 'No no's'
Windows updated can cause it,
And just the bug that sometimes the Game itself screws the pooch.

What are those mod "No no's" and how to avoid them though?

one of the No No's is a savegame next to a unit e.g. a ship neutral/enemy.

Did you try a previous save?
And where did you get SH3?

Some problems with Steam were fixed with this patch.

You'd need a stock version of the Steam SH3.exe to use it.

I bet that's what it was. Like with any game, save often. With SH3, save VERY often.
