I've seen someone try it with an aircraft carrier once.:o As you might expect, it didn't go so smoothly. You might find a clip if you search for "graf zeppelin warship mod"
personally i could never get so close to alexandria to actually enter the channel because of the numerous patrolling surface vessels.
