My steam states that it is version 1.4, but there is a 1.4b mentioned a lot. May I assume that 1.4 is the same as 1.4b?

I'm pretty sure you can consider that the latest. I don't have a Steam install though to confirm. I have a DVD install. But on the details tab in the properties of the SH3.exe it shows product version 1.4.0.1. If that matches then I think you can be assured it is the latest. Even if not then I don't know what you can do about it. As Steam does the updates automatically.

it's the same & starforce free. I play it for more than seven years.:salute:
