Hello all,

I recently factory reset my PC resulting in a total loss of all my SH5 files. I'm an idiot and forgot to back them up. Upon attempting to reinstall TWoS modpack today, I encountered an error with the Steam conversion tool. It threw an error saying "There is an issue with the SH5 regkey." Then it continued on as normal but only installing 8/9 patches, making the game literally unplayable. As in it wouldn't even launch. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thank you,

Greetings Commander!

I recently had a similar issue with regkeys and sh5 (seriously, why are regkeys still a thing?). Anyways, I ended up having to reinstall sh5 from steam so I could hard copy the regkey and enter it manually. Perhaps you are having a similar issue.

Try starting the game first. Once you hit the menu, the game should be registered with Ubisoft and you can continue. The only other suggestion is to ensure your internet is connected as a loss of connection will prevent the game from running (thanks for that, Ubisoft *sacasm*

Good hunting, Skipper

It's a system/admin rights problem. I remember having the very same issue when I was installing SH5 on a PC where I was logged in as a user and not as an administrator. Steam converter from some reason can't read your SH5 install path from registry base. Try to log in as an administrator, don't forget to use full administration rights during the game/mod installation...

If it doesn't work, then read install instructions and reinstall the game following procedure for Ubisoft connect/digital download version owners ...In theory, it should work...:yep:
