View Full Version : Camera is stuck and will not move.

The camera will not move at all while I am in a mission. When I use the arrow keys nothing happens, when I click and move the mouse nothing happens. This goes for inside the ship, on the bridge, in the periscope, and in the external camera. Any help would be appreciated.

Mods:
GWX
SH3 Commander
ARB Wide Gui
H.Sie patch V16B1 (only the Patch_SH3.bat)
4gb Patch (not an issue; installed it after it was broken.)

Not sure about your camera issue though the ARB mod has the camera.dat and commands.cfg files in it. Check your commands.cfg file for the movement functions.
Also, you don't need the 4gb patch is you're using H.sie's patch. Look at the top of it's option selector menu and you'll see the 4gb patch there already.
If by "only the patch_sh3.bat" you mean you haven't applied the options selector after applying H.sie's patch, you also need to do that.
Read his instructions as they are well done.

You didn’t respond until the next year!

All jokes aside you were right and I did not supplement it right. I’ve almost got everything figured out except step 3.1.

Step 3.1 in H.sie's patch ? If so and you need help setting it up don't hesitate to ask.

When I installed Hsie. Patch I had to do it on a clean SH3.exe if I remember rightly and had issues if I did it on the exe left after installing GWX.

I have done this a couple of times and what I remember doing to get it to work was:

-Clean install of SH3 (using Steam)
-Create folder named "patch" in Silent Hunter 3 directory
-Copy and paste SH3.exe out of the root Silent Hunter 3 folder into "patch" folder.
-Install GWX
-Apply Hsie. patch to SH3.EXE in "patch" folder.
-Apply Tycho patch to SH3.EXE in "patch" folder.
-Apply 4GB patch to SH3.EXE in "patch" folder.
-Copy and Paste SH3.EXE from "Patch" folder to "Silent Hunter 3" folder, replacing the one that starts the game.
-Enabled relevant mods with JGME
-Start game, (with compatibility mode set in properties to Windows XP (service Pack 2) or Windows Vista)

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone who has done it differently, but that's how I have them installed and it apparently works for me currently.

It works is all that matters, but GWX does nothing to the .exe file.

You may be right, I found I had issues one install after trying to apply the above patches and activating mods after installing GWX so I have always done so before and pasted the exe over afterwards (just in case). It could have potentially been an unrelated issue though I recall my game crashed on start-up and I only fixed it by doing a clean install the way stated above.

I can guarantee it; GWX does nothing to the .exe file. :)
