View Full Version : Is it a well done deception or is it genuine?
Saw this on the news some minutes ago and found an English article.
So what do you say a deception or genuine ?
My first thought is - It's a deception and it will stay this way until the scientist has examined the object.
https://news.sky.com/story/mysterious-metal-monolith-found-in-remote-part-of-utah-by-state-officials-counting-sheep-12140885
The object, which is estimated to be around 10-12 feet (3-3.6 metres) tall and made of some type of metal, was found planted in the ground, tucked in a red rock cove.
The movie 2001 came into my mind too

"It's not from us."
If the base is tucked in concrete, it's a hoax :03:

Another is it a deception or genuine?
There are now businesses that sell fake people.

It doesn't have the 1:4:9 ratio to be from the TMA.
It doesn't have the 1:4:9 ratio to be from the TMA.
You mean the 1:4:9:16:25 ratio?
Clarke wrote about that in The Lost Worlds of 2001. It was silly to assume that there were only three dimensions. :o
:Kaleun_Cheers:
I think the scientist have made it clear by now, there are more dimensions than these three. There is also a fourth dimensions, which is Time.
On this they agree..When it comes to more dimensions they have different opinion on how many there is.
Back to this object.
I have only seen the movie 2001 once many years ago. So I may have missed this 1.4.9 Ratio and I haven't read the book.
But do this object to have this ratio ?

Ask Dave.....
The monolith from the movie was found on the moon and it was black. Not shining metal.

Time is not a dimension, but it can move across dimensions :D
Time is not a dimension, but it can move across dimensions :D
I can only refer to some science program like
Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman
The Univers
How the univers Works.
And if my memory doesn't play tricks with me, they have said the fourth dimensions is the Time
and some scientist even claim that gravity should be a dimensions too.
I like science program about space and quantum mechanics, it does not make me an expert though.

Appeared to be rivet holes on one side, like a plaque was to be attached.
I consider this for being a hoax/deception until the scientist tell us otherwise.
I have a little believe that there are intelligent life out there. But as mentioned before I don't think they have the knowledge/capability or interested in visiting us.
It was a friend who posted it with a link to a Danish newspaper.
My first thought was yea and within the next couple of month we will wake up one ordinary morning only to witness huge spacecraft hovering above earth biggest cities.
(sometimes my imagination goes wild)

re time being a dimension is debatable

And if my memory doesn't play tricks with me, they have said the fourth dimensions is the Time

In classic newtonian physics time is being described as a fourth dimension. It is about definition, gravity is a curvature or "warp" in space-time, which is why time passes faster closer to a gravity well.
There were probably more dimensions at the beginning of the big expansion, and that some d. are slowly evaporating with the age of what you call universe.
"Time" and "laws of nature" are different from the core of a galaxy to its outer rim, so any "law" is depending on what it relates to.
^ I presume you are right.
Furthermore it's a sculpture
Some cheekily wondered if it was planted there by aliens. Others thought it might be a tribute to the monolith in “2001: A Space Odyssey.” But the most tantalizing speculation was that it might be the work of John McCracken, a Minimalist sculptor with an affinity for science fiction who died in 2011.

If I was the monolith I too had left the scene. Insta and FB minions, esoteric muddlers, esoteric muddler's dogs (you get the idea). In two weeks time a souvenir shop, a soda vending machine, and public restrooms would have been set up. Nah, time to go.
IT'S GONE!
I'm waiting for a really complicated and detailed explanation before I jump to any rash conclusions. :yeah:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utah_monolith https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b8/Utah_Monolith.jpg It's strangly similar to the late minimalist sculptor John McCracken's "Fair" shown in a gallery in 2011 http://cdn.artobserved.com/2013/10/John-McCracken-Fair-2011-via-David-Zwirner.jpgEarly objects created by John McCracken were derived from company logos such as the Chevron corporation logo. His sculptures deal with the interrelationships existing between the material world and design.[2]In this case: a McCracken wannabe interrelating to the surrounding red rock formations?:hmmm: A pity it's gone i just wanted a good spot to dance the Dum-Dum in the moonlight!https://youtu.be/NRNNqOpFMXo?t=17

The state government types removed it from Uyah.
Couldn't have a bunch of tourists tramping all over pristine desert land.

Another Mysterious Monolith Was Found In Romania, Has Already Vanished
Now, a second monolith has appeared (and promptly disappeared) in Romania, as mysteriously as the first. Although, judging from video footage, the second monolith appeared a bit rougher than the original Utah monolith, and was covered in spiral engravings.
The first monolith was suspected by some to be an ambiguous art piece by John McCracken, a sculptor fond of science fiction, who allegedly expressed a desire to leave his artwork “in remote places to be discovered later.”

Way too many vehicles and curious people were invading the site.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/monolith-appears-in-california-similar-to-utah-structure/ar-BB1bAKQE?ocid=BingNews
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A monolith has been spotted in Southern California that appears to be similar to one discovered in the Utah desert.
It’s unclear who placed the monolith on a hiking trail in Atascadero, KEYT-TV reported Wednesday. The tall, silver structure drew some hikers to the area after photos were posted on social media.
At least two other monoliths have been spotted elsewhere. A similar structure that officials said was made of riveted plates of stainless steel was toppled in Utah by a group of people who said “leave no trace,” KSTU-TV reported.
