Alex Trebek -- the revered and beloved "Jeopardy!" host since 1984, whose calm but witty presence was must-see television for millions of Americans -- has died ... TMZ has learned.

A "Jeopardy!" spokesperson tells TMZ, "Jeopardy is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends."

The TV icon had been battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer since announcing the news back in March 2019.

I'm deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Alex Trebek. When I first heard of Alex's diagnosis, I knew it wasn't good. Alex never gave up and kept hosting Jeopardy while he fought on. The game show Jeopardy won't be the same without Alex.

Rest in peace.

I hope they find out what causes pancreatic cancer or better yet a cure for it.
I think my son has it ... :yep:
He smokes pot and cigarettes and
is over weight and
has diabetes and
thinks that he has it due to picking mushrooms years ago,
but he refuses to get tested.

Go figure :hmmm:

While the exact cause of pancreatic cancer is not known, certain risk factors are strongly linked to the disease, including tobacco smoking and obesity. Also, people with a hereditary cancer syndrome or specific genetic mutations have a higher risk of developing the disease.
