During my last patrol, I was attacked by airplanes while looking for ships by the eastern coast of England. I received heavy damage to my my sub, my hull integrity was down to 70%.

I put my crew to repair the various damages and I noticed that when a given damaged is repaired, the message appears on the screen, saying for example (can't remember the exact words): "Starboard engine repaired", and so on, let's say 20-25 items repaired, but there is no voices corresponding to the text. However, I just checked the Sound folder data/Sound/Speech/1-9 all the corresponding sounds are in there...

Didn't notice that before because this is the first time I am doing repairs at sea...

I am using GWX3.0, plus various mods, but none that deletes or replaces the sound files in those folders. Is there a "master" file that can cause the loss of the voices?

What could be causing the loss of voices?

Thanks lot for your help!

Time compression.
But i can’t remember hearing those voices for repaired items...in any mod :hmmm:

Like Fifi, I do not remember any voice broadcast that announces a repair has been completed, just the written notification from the crew dialog reporting.

You are correct about the sounds being there. There's a ton of speech files that were originally recorded that have never been incorporated, even in stock. No fault of any mods to my knowledge.

If we could delete all the files unused by game, main SH3 folder could be 1/4 lighter :D

I thought about that too, but while the repairs were taking place, I was running SH3 without time compression. I know there are lots of things in SH3 that were unfinished from the beginning, and knowing those sounds are one of them, I am relieved... at first I thought it was something I did wrong and screwed up my install... :D

Thanks a lot Kaleuns for your replies! :salute:
