Interesting...it is hard to see who's lying and who's not...

People say they want their politicians to be honest but usually find it hard to tell if that is what they are getting. However, two economists realized that even when it‘s difficult to assess an individual’s honesty, statistical tests can measure the proportion of truth-telling and find characteristics associated with greater honesty. In particular, they found that Spaniards seeking an honest mayor should look outside the major parties.

I had planned to post it as a comment in...yea which one ? we have our US..our UK and our German - Politics threads, so in which should I post it ?

So I made a new thread.

Hate to burst your bubble mupac....... but, EVERYBODY lies, we're just more aware of politicians lying because they are constantly in the public eye.

A huge majority of the selectable politicians do lie. There are though a little percentage who don't, but...how shall I put it.

They are placed in the parties square...they have to follow the party political line.

I defer to "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" on these matters.

There's an old saying...

There are three sides to every story: this side, the other side, and the Facts...

If you want something nearest the truth, don't just accept blindly what you are told; do a little bit of effort and seek out the other side of the story, and, pretty much, whatever can be agreed upon by both sides without adjectives/adverbs/embellishment is usually the truth; if nothing remains after parsing out the chaff, then the whole thing is likely BS; don't trust what you're told, trust what you can actually prove and know...

I defer to a former President on these matters: "Trust, but verify"...
