Afternoon all

Might be of interest to some this article is about the return of the Russian navy from its delapidated state in the 1990's to its present day state as a tier 3 blue water navy.

The origional Vorenezh was a Oscar II SSGN similar to Kursk they just phased her out this year.

they are most certainly on the rise.

Now also note they have improved sonar capability too before russian boats used to have torpedo tubes up front and now like the west they are on the sides and recessed back.

It's not only their Navy who got a vitamin injection.
Even their Airforce has got a vitamin injection

The reality is the navy actually is 4th in line for funding in terms of the budget.

there are 5 arms in the russian military and the airforce is 3rd in line for funding while strategic missile force ranks 1st

Interms of budget

1) Strategic missile forces
2) Air force
3) army
4) navy
5) border guards

However since 2011 they also include the space troops for the 6th but they are considered part of the army internally
